• Please read the following conditions and general information about our services . . .

Free Initial Consultation

I encourage a free initial consultation with you to discuss all aspects of the work you need performed. However, due to the number of clients we serve, after set up as a client phone consultation is billed at the current hourly rate. A toll free number is provided for this purpose. Please feel free to call 740-593-7084 or 1.877.671.0042 to consult by phone, or email us with requests. Voicemail and email requests are answered within 24 hours, or the next business day.

Set Up & Billing

Website Set Up - set up includes consultation on existing service providers, requesting/obtaining your server information from the hosting provider, secure local, external and hardcopy backups of new and existing account information and set up of development and billing software.

Future requested work and maintenance will be billed by the minute (30 minute minimum) at the current hourly rate.

* Set up is a one time fee unless there have been modifications to the server by another party, or the account is inactive for over one year.

Priority Rate Now Available

Occasionally, immediate changes are needed that may not have been anticipated, however other clients have put in requests before the change was needed. Although everyone wants to be the most important, there has to be a system that is fair to everyone so I am now offering a Priority Rate, in which your file will be moved to the front of my schedule.

Priority work is offered at $75 per hour M-F days, $100 per hour evenings and weekends, and is available upon request or urgency.

Schedule

Office hours are:
Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and by appointment

I will respond to all email and voicemail within 24 hours or the next business day. At that time I will have an approximate timeframe for completion if work was requested. Turn-around time varies from 24 hours to many weeks depending on the type and size of the project.

Turn-around time is also based on timely responses to my communications and questions to you. If you are busy and need more time, there's no problem, however because I am waiting for communication or answers from you, the next project in line will be worked on if I am unable to proceed on yours.

Courtesy

Please use "Subject" lines in emails when possible, this makes it easier for me to go back and refer to something we've discussed.

I prefer to only coordinate with you about your website, please have other involved parties talk to you about the site.

Security

All account information is kept on an secure, encrypted router network with complete firewall and virus/spyware protection. Hardcopy files and notes are kept is a fireproof safe at all times except during working hours for your privacy and protection. Backups are run daily on the server (if hosting with Clearlight Communications, if you are hosted elsewhere please contact them for server back up information) and weekly on local files.

Webthingz takes every precaution to ensure your account and private information is kept securely, however we can not guarantee that even the most secure system will not someday be victim to a vulnerability. Therefore Webthingz does not take responsibility for any lost content.

Other

Attention AOL users: AOL uses Proxy servers to Improve Performance. This may delay your ability to see changes to your web site by up to 24 hours.

Proxy servers can dramatically improve performance for groups of users. This is because it saves the results of all requests for a certain amount of time. Consider the case where both user X and user Y access the World Wide Web through a proxy server. First user X requests a certain Web page, which we'll call Page 1. Sometime later, user Y requests the same page. Instead of forwarding the request to the Web server where Page 1 resides, which can be a time-consuming operation, the proxy server simply returns the Page 1 that it already fetched for user X. Since the proxy server is often on the same network as the user, this is a much faster operation. Real proxy servers support hundreds or thousands of users. The major online services such as America Online, MSN and Yahoo, for example, employ an array of proxy servers.

We will notify established clients when there have been significant changes to the terms and conditions posted here.

Thank you!
